Mighty Canton Band
Congratulations to the MCB for receiving straight first divisions at UIL on Wednesday. This is the 32nd consecutive year of Sweepstakes for the band.
Three Canton High School Band students recently competed at the Class 4A Regional and Area levels, earning the honor of advancing to the Texas All-State Band. On February 25, CHS Band Director Mike Bartley traveled with the students to San Antonio, where they joined 20,000 top musicians from across the state. After four days of clinics and rehearsals, the students performed on March 1 at the Lila Cockrell Theater.
Representing CHS were Dean Kuhl (junior, two-year All-State member, Bari Sax), Dylan Stewart (senior, one-year All-State member, trumpet), and Joel Delgado (junior, one-year All-State member, trumpet).
“They represented Canton, Texas very well, and we, as a community, are so proud,” said Mr. Bartley.
